Child Safety Standards

LifeLayers has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page describes the standards we enforce on our platform, the measures we take to prevent CSAE, and the ways anyone — user, parent, member of the public, or law enforcement — can report it to us for immediate action.

Last updated: May 12, 2026 Zero tolerance 24-hour first response

Need to report CSAE on LifeLayers right now?

Email [email protected] or use the in-app Report button on the layer, message, or profile in question. We review every report — usually within 24 hours.

01

Our zero-tolerance policy

LifeLayers ("we", "us"), operated by SynaVora FZ-LLC (Dubai, United Arab Emirates), is committed to keeping children safe on our service. We do not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation in any form, and we will act decisively to remove such content, terminate the accounts of those who produce or share it, and report it to the appropriate authorities.

!

Producing, possessing, distributing, soliciting, promoting, or facilitating access to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is a serious crime. If you are aware of CSAM anywhere — on LifeLayers or elsewhere — please report it to your national authorities and to the resources listed in section 8.

This policy applies to every part of LifeLayers: layers (photos and videos posted at locations), profile photos and bios, comments and replies, direct messages, group conversations, and any other user-generated content that may exist on the service now or in the future.

02

What is prohibited

The following are strictly prohibited on LifeLayers and will result in immediate account termination, content removal, and — where applicable — a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any visual, written, or audio depiction of a minor (anyone under 18) engaged in sexual activity, posed in a sexualised manner, or otherwise depicted as a victim of sexual abuse. This includes computer-generated imagery (CGI), AI-generated material, animations, drawings, and morphed or edited images.
  • Sexualised commentary about minors — text content, comments, captions, or messages that sexualise children, describe them as sexual objects, or promote sexual interest in minors.
  • Grooming — communications that attempt to build a relationship with a minor in order to facilitate sexual abuse, including encouraging a minor to share sexual imagery, encouraging a minor to keep the relationship secret from trusted adults, or asking a minor to meet offline for sexual purposes.
  • Sextortion — threats to share or distribute sexually explicit material of a minor (real or fabricated) unless the minor pays money, sends more imagery, or performs sexual acts.
  • Solicitation of CSAM — asking, encouraging, or offering to receive, exchange, or pay for sexual imagery of minors.
  • Promoting or facilitating CSAE — links to, hashtags for, instructions for accessing, or any other content that directs users toward CSAM or CSAE-related communities elsewhere online.
  • Endangering children offline — content that provides a child's personal information (address, school, daily routine) in a context that could facilitate offline harm; or arranging in-person meetings with minors for harmful purposes.

These prohibitions apply regardless of the apparent age of the subject and regardless of whether the content is presented as "artistic", "fictional", "satirical", or otherwise. If the content sexualises or could plausibly sexualise a real or depicted minor, it is prohibited.

How we prevent CSAE

LifeLayers is operated by a small independent team. We are honest about what we currently do and what we are progressively building. Our prevention measures are layered:

At account creation

  • Users must self-certify they are at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum where applicable — see section 4).
  • We block known disposable-email services and apply rate limits to signup endpoints to discourage automated abuse account creation.

At upload time

  • Hash matching against known CSAM databases — we are integrating PhotoDNA-style hash matching against the lists maintained by NCMEC and the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). Any upload whose hash matches a known-CSAM hash is blocked immediately, the account is suspended, and a report is generated for our safety team and (where applicable) NCMEC.
  • Automated content moderation signals — we use machine-learning classifiers on uploaded imagery to surface content that warrants human review. These classifiers do not make final enforcement decisions; they prioritise content for manual review.
  • Metadata checks — uploads carrying suspicious metadata patterns (for example, EXIF data inconsistent with the claimed source) are flagged for review.

After publication

  • User reporting — every layer, message, comment, and profile carries an in-app Report option. CSAE-related reports are routed to a high-priority queue with a target first-response time of 24 hours.
  • Proactive sampling — our safety team periodically samples newly-uploaded content for review, with statistical coverage that scales with platform volume.
  • Cross-reporting between users — when an account is reported by multiple unrelated users for safety reasons within a short window, that account is automatically restricted from uploading new content pending review.

Throughout the user experience

  • Direct messaging is limited to mutual friends — strangers cannot message minor accounts at all.
  • Profile discovery surfaces (Discover, Trending) exclude flagged accounts even before a final moderation decision is made.
  • The four-tier audience model (Public / Followers / Friends / Only me) is enforced server-side on every request; a layer's audience cannot be bypassed by tampering with client-side state.
i

Transparency. Some of the tools above are at different stages of deployment for our small team. Where a tool is "in deployment" rather than "fully live", our manual review team carries the load until that automation lands. We will update this page as our tooling matures, and we publish a transparency summary annually.

04

Age requirements

LifeLayers is not directed to children under 13. In jurisdictions where the minimum digital-consent age is higher (for example, 16 in parts of the European Economic Area), that higher minimum applies. Users below the applicable minimum are not permitted to use the service.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a user below the applicable minimum age, we delete that information and terminate the account. Parents and guardians can report under-age accounts to [email protected].

How to report CSAE on LifeLayers

We provide multiple reporting paths. Use the one that fits the situation; we will act on a report received through any of them.

1. In the app

Every layer, profile, and direct-message thread has a Report option accessible from the "⋯" menu. Choose "Child safety concern" to route the report to our dedicated CSAE queue. You will be asked to add context; this is optional but helpful.

2. By email

Write to [email protected]. Include the layer URL, user profile URL, message thread, or any other identifying detail; attach screenshots only if you are comfortable doing so and not if the content itself depicts a minor. Our team will reply with confirmation typically within 24 hours.

3. Through external reporting bodies

CSAE is a crime. Reporting it to your national authorities or to an international tip-line is always appropriate in addition to (or instead of) reporting to us:

4. For law enforcement

Properly-authenticated legal process can be served by law enforcement to [email protected]. Emergency disclosure requests in cases of imminent risk to a child are responded to as a priority, on a 24/7 basis, by the same address.

06

How we respond to reports

Our response workflow for CSAE reports is designed to be fast and decisive.

  1. Triage (within 24 hours). A human safety reviewer assesses the report. If the report concerns content currently live on the platform, that content is taken offline as soon as the reviewer believes there is a credible basis for the concern — before any further investigation. Removal is reversible; irreparable harm is not.
  2. Account action. The implicated account is suspended pending review. If the review confirms a violation, the account is permanently terminated and the user is blocked from creating new accounts using the same identifying signals (device, email, IP range).
  3. Mandatory reporting. Where required by law, we report the content and associated account information to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). We preserve the relevant records and metadata in line with our legal obligations.
  4. Law-enforcement cooperation. We cooperate with properly-authenticated requests from law-enforcement agencies in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the European Union, and elsewhere, on a basis consistent with applicable law and our Terms of Service.
  5. Reporter notification. Where appropriate (and where doing so does not interfere with an active investigation), we notify the reporter of the action we have taken.

Repeated, malicious, or knowingly false reports are themselves a Terms of Service violation. Good-faith reports are never penalised, even if the reviewer concludes the reported content does not violate this policy.

Help and support for victims and concerned adults

If you are a child or young person experiencing harm, or an adult worried about a child, these organisations can help. They are independent from LifeLayers; we list them as a public service.

09

Designated child-safety contact

LifeLayers maintains a dedicated child-safety address that is monitored seven days a week. Use this channel for reports concerning CSAE, emergency disclosure requests from law enforcement, and inquiries from civil-society or regulatory bodies working on child safety.
